Summer Camp

  • Kindergarten Adventure (for students entering kindergarten at Buckley)

    Description: Kindergarten Adventure is an educational and fun-filled program, carefully designed with the needs and developmental considerations of our youngest campers in mind. Campers will engage in activities including arts & crafts, storytelling, imaginative play, games, athletics, and much more. 

    Hours: 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

    Optional Extended Care Hours: 3:00 to 4:00 p.m.

    Session Dates:
    • Session I: June 17–28 (No camp Wednesday, June 19 in observance of Juneteenth)
    • Session II: July 1–12 (No camp Thursday or Friday, July 4 and 5 in observance of Independence Day)
    • Session III: July 15–29

    Tuition:

    • Kindergarten Adventure Tuition (sessions 1 and 2): $1,030/session
    • Kindergarten Adventure Tuition (session 3): $1,140/session
    • Kindergarten Extended Care Cost: $300/session

    Note:
    Participants must be entering Kindergarten at Buckley in Fall 2024.

  • Baseball Camp | Rising Grades 5-8

    Description:
    Do you want to become a better baseball player, have tons of fun, hang out with your friends on beautiful Gilley Field, and be a huge part of helping build our Buckley Griffin baseball program?
    (Parents: your kids will also learn some great life lessons including responsibility, accountability, hard work, respect, commitment, confidence, selflessness, how to be a good teammate, and much more!)

  • Crafty Griffins | Rising Grades 1-4

    Instructor: Jake Fisher 

    Capacity: 14

    Description:Designed for young artists, this immersive experience offers a vibrant mix of painting, drawing, and crafts to fostering self expression and imagination. Campers will also have the chance to interact with other camps via camp games.
  • Drones Camp | Rising Grades 4-8

    Instructor: Paul Barker, Buckley computer science teacher and Robotics team advisor

    Capacity: 16

    Description: 
    Students work in teams of two to program a drone to fly with block coding. Students learns the principles of flight as well as the python coding language. The group produces a video at the end of the class to show off the flight paths and stunts of the drones.



  • Movie Magic Camp | Rising Grades 3-5

    Instructor: Alyssa Ortega

    Description: Attention all aspiring moviemakers! Get ready for the adventure of a lifetime at the Movie Making Camp. This summer, you'll have the chance to bring your wildest movie ideas to life. Our amazing instructors will show you how to write a script, create storyboards, and use cool technology like iPads and apps to film and edit your movie. You'll learn all the tricks of the trade and have a blast making new friends along the way. By the end of the camp, you'll have your very own movie to share with family and friends. Get ready for an exciting and fun-filled summer full of creativity and movie magic!
  • Sports Spectacular with Coach Holland | Rising Grades 1-3

    Instructor: John Holland, Buckley Primary PE Teacher

    Description: This program is designed for the children to explore, have fun, and feel successful in their abilities. Students will engage in games and activities that reinforce what is covered in primary physical education. We are focused on drills, skills, and thrills. All the games played are small-sided and modified for every student to find success. The objectives are learning, having fun, and experiencing multiple games and sports while at summer camp at Buckley.
  • Swim Camp | Rising Grades 4-8

    Instructor: Harley and Lily Tricarico

    Capacity: 14

    Description: 
    Each week for kids 9-13 years old we will focus on achieving new water skills. Depending on the skill levels, we will be addressing particular games and practices for essential safety and progression in strokes, dives, and movement in the pool. We will focus on bonding games as well as competitions like relay races, in-water sports (water polo, water volleyball), and other activities (Sharks and Minnows, Treasure hunt, treading water challenge, etc) that can increase a student’s swimming skills.

    Description: Do you love sports? Join a sports camp, where every day is fun under the sun! We’ll be playing all sports ranging from basketball, football, whiffle ball, kickball, ultimate frisbee and so much more! 
  • Swim Camp | Rising Grades 1-3

    Description: Each week for kids 6-8 years old we will focus on fundamental swimming skills; basic stroke, water safety essentials, etc. Depending on the swimmer's progression we will add games (Marco Polo, Colors, Sharks and Minnows, etc.), bonding activities, and competitions. Keep in mind, if we feel that the kids are not able to swim as effectively or strongly, for their safety we will focus more on teaching them the proper technique. 
    Please note: This is not a swim lesson. All students MUST know how to swim without a life vest.

    Description: Get ready for a summer filled with fun and games! At the Board Game Camp, you'll have the chance to play a variety of exciting board games and learn what makes them so much fun. Our amazing instructors will show you how to play new games, think strategically, and work as a team. But that's not all - you'll also have the chance to create your very own board game! You'll get to be the designer, coming up with the rules, the game pieces, and the fun. By the end of the camp, you'll have created a board game that you can play with your friends and family. Get ready for a summer filled with laughter, creativity, and lots of fun!

    In this week long camp, students will explore a mix of jazz technique, contemporary influences, and hip hop grooves in a beginner level dancing camp. Additionally, students will be given opportunities to create and contribute to the dance pieces they will present on the Friday performance for parents and guardians.

Dates
Summer Camp consists of six week-long sessions with the exception of our Kindergarten Camps, which consist of three two-week-long sessions. Camp runs from June 17 to July 26. No camp offerings will be held on June 19 or July 4 and 5. 

Summer Camp 
  • Arrival: Drop-off begins at 8:00 a.m.
  • Camp Hours: 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
  • First Activity: 9:00-11:00 a.m.
  • Lunch: 11:00-11:30 a.m. (parents/guardians must select lunch options while registering for camp)
  • Organized Free Play: 11:30 a.m.-12:00 noon
  • Second Activity: 12:00-3:00 p.m.
  • After camp care: 3:00-4:00 p.m. (if parents/guardians sign up for it)
 
Kinder Adventure Camp
  • Arrival: Begins at 8:00 a.m.
  • Camp goes from 9:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m.

Registration Policy

All students must register using our online system. Payment is due in full at the time of registration, paid by credit card only. 

Waitlist

Should a camp program reach full capacity, a waitlist will be started. When space is available a waitlisted camper will be contacted. To be placed on a waitlist, please contact Harley Faye at hfaye@buckley.org

Cancellation Policy

The school reserves the right to close enrollment or to cancel a course offering. If a course is canceled, you will be notified seven days in advance. You’re entitled to a 100% refund should we need to cancel.

With the exception of the above, no refunds for classes will be issued for courses if a child withdraws after May 1, 2023. The tuition is 100% non-refundable after May 1. Students may register for additional courses at any time but must pay the full cost of the class.
