Teaching at Buckley
Teachers at Buckley enjoy teaching. Whatever their discipline, they love working with children and sparking their curiosities and passions. In a school with 830 students, 110 faculty, and 80 staff members, we pride ourselves in knowing every child, promoting where they excel, and helping where they struggle. At Buckley, teaching is a calling and a privilege.
Design-Your-Own PD
Each year our Parents’ Association selects two faculty recipients for the “PA Fellowship,” which allows them to create experiences of their own design. Past PA Fellowships have sponsored an exploration through Antarctica; a visit to the advanced design and sustainability of Snøhetta in Norway; the writing, directing, and producing of an original short film; and a journey through Senegal to study music, language, colonialism, and culture.
Professional Development
A robust professional development budget helps our faculty and staff stay current, connected, and passionate about their work. All employees are eligible for professional development grants, which fund additional learning and experiences that include graduate study, workshops, and national and international conferences.
