On Friday, January 11, sixth, seventh, and eighth students competed in the annual Middle School Spelling Bee.
After seven rounds of intense competition, only seventh grade students Tyler S. and Katherine S. and sixth grade student Mali L. remained. In the final round, Mali correctly spelled “Prague,” while Tyler misspelled “phalanx” and Katherine misspelled “balsam.” Finally, Mali needed to spell one more word correctly to win the contest, and she nailed “chivalrous.”
What a great moment for Mali and the Class of 2025! Congratulations, Mali, and best of luck as you represent Buckley in the next round of competition!
Upper School students of Spanish 3 Honors, Spanish 4 Honors, and AP Spanish attended the dress rehearsal of the opera, El último sueño de Frida y Diego, and stopped for lunch at the Pueblo de Los Angeles on Olvera Street.
