Last June, Upper School Student Dakota G. was chosen as one of five finalists among thousands of entrants nationwide for Google’s Change the Game Design contest.
Since then, she has been working with Google to develop her game, Ecoverse, as a mobile app. Google has now launched a preview of her game, along with the games of other finalists. Ecoverse can be downloaded on android devices from the Google Play store. The full game will be released in December. Click here, here, and here to read more.
Thank you to Dr. G for originally sharing the contest with Dakota and for helping to inspire young girls to get involved in STEAM. You are both inspiring examples for others looking to get involved in science and technology!
Once again, Buckley’s Middle and Upper School students participated in a rousing Spirit Week! Congratulations to our eighth and twelfth graders for winning the Middle and Upper Spirit Week Competitions.
One of our very own world changers, Kaylen M. ’19, was honored by the National Center for Women & Information Technology (NCWIT) Affiliate Award Committee as an NCWIT Los Angeles Honorable Mention Award Winner for Aspirations in Computing.
