MS Sports Update: A Win in OT!

With outstanding defense, forced turnovers, and some key shots, the 7/8 grade girls varsity basketball team pulled off a 20-19 win in overtime yesterday against Lainer!

 
"It was like there was a lid on the rim for us," said Coach Marta Conley. After the first quarter, Buckley was trailing by 7, but Buckley forced several turnovers that opened up scoring opportunities, ultimately costing Lainer the game. 
 
With just a few seconds to spare in double overtime, eighth grader Abby M. hit a free-throw to win the game!
 
In other Middle School sports news, 7/8 grade JV flag football won yesterday's game 30-0 against Milken with an incredibly impressive performance by seventh grade quarterback Sam S. With solid throws, good reads, and no interceptions by Sam; great blocking, fantastic runs and passes, the team earned a well-deserved win! 
 
7/8 grade girls JV basketball faced a tough game against Lainer yesterday, losing 6-34. It's still early in the season, so here's to a successful run for our Griffins! 
 
On Monday, Coach Hamilton's 7/8 grade red flag football team won 20-6 against Viewpoint. With 4 sacks and great kicks from seventh grader Ricardo C., and game-changing defense from Marley M. the team breezed through the second half of the game and got the win!
