Grades three, four, and five headed up to Gilley on a bright and beautiful day before Thanksgiving Break for Lower School’s traditional “Field Day” – a morning of exercise, skill-building, and games led by Buckley coaches and P.E. staff.
“We’ve been doing Field Day for as long as I’ve been here,” says Lower School Head Adrienne Parsons, who started at Buckley in 1988.
Students divided up into groups and rotated through 6 stations including Tag Games with Coach Holland, HIIT (High Intensity Interval Training) with Coach Lotts, Jump Rope with Coach Nixon and Yoga with Coach Andrews. A relay race got everyone jumping up and down, cheering on their teammates.
Upper School students of Spanish 3 Honors, Spanish 4 Honors, and AP Spanish attended the dress rehearsal of the opera, El último sueño de Frida y Diego, and stopped for lunch at the Pueblo de Los Angeles on Olvera Street.
