Spring Sports Highlights from Coach Mathis

Coach Amelia Mathis shared a spring sports roundup, full of highlights and kudos. Go Griffins! 
  • BOYS GOLF: They're off to a great start defeating Milken, de Toledo, AGBU, and Yula rounding out a 4-0 record in the league. In the first match, the team recorded a score of 199, the lowest scorecard in four years! 
  • BOYS TENNIS: With an overall record of 11-0 and League record of 6-0, they are currently sitting in first place in the Liberty League and are gearing up for the Division 1 playoffs!
  • TRACK & FIELD: Over the break, track and field competed in our Liberty League meet. Marley M. led the sprinters, championing the 100m, 200m, and Triple Jump. Lorelei B. led the distance runners, championing 1600m, 800m, and the long jump. Kayla H. championed the 200m, while Madi E. championed the 100m. 
  • SWIM: Lara H. has two CIF consideration cuts, going 28.30 on senior night at our pool. Our 200 medley relay team of Sienna S., Lily T., Sarah S., and Lara H. also has a consideration time for CIF. Ryan S. has shaved 4 seconds from his 50 freestyle already this season. Wolfie Y. has gotten a best time in his 50 breaststroke every time he’s gotten in the pool. Niko L. leads the team in first place finishes at League meets. 
  • BASEBALL: Join us on Gilley Thursday, April 14 as your Buckley Griffins take on rival Oakwood at 3:15 p.m. There will be rally towels, foam fingers, snacks, and more!
  • MS SPRING ATHLETICS opens up with games starting next week.
