Congratulations to our Lower School spelling bee winner, third grade student Amelie B.!
The winning word was “extricates”; the other words she received and correctly spelled were “code,” “splinter,” “poodles,” “infinity”, “Japanese,” “banishment,” “perish,” and “abolition.”
Fifth grade students Kannan R. and Jagger P. came in second and third place, respectively, correctly spelling words like “gremlin,” “borrowed,” “resemble,” “hoisted,” “guise,” “penalty,” “dormer,” and “gravity.”
Amelie will compete on Saturday, March 9 at the regional spelling bee, held at North Hollywood High School.

Upper School students of Spanish 3 Honors, Spanish 4 Honors, and AP Spanish attended the dress rehearsal of the opera, El último sueño de Frida y Diego, and stopped for lunch at the Pueblo de Los Angeles on Olvera Street.
