Congratulations to our Lower School spelling bee winner, third grade student Amelie B.!
The winning word was “extricates”; the other words she received and correctly spelled were “code,” “splinter,” “poodles,” “infinity”, “Japanese,” “banishment,” “perish,” and “abolition.”
Fifth grade students Kannan R. and Jagger P. came in second and third place, respectively, correctly spelling words like “gremlin,” “borrowed,” “resemble,” “hoisted,” “guise,” “penalty,” “dormer,” and “gravity.”
Amelie will compete on Saturday, March 9 at the regional spelling bee, held at North Hollywood High School.

Once again, Buckley’s Middle and Upper School students participated in a rousing Spirit Week! Congratulations to our eighth and twelfth graders for winning the Middle and Upper Spirit Week Competitions.
One of our very own world changers, Kaylen M. ’19, was honored by the National Center for Women & Information Technology (NCWIT) Affiliate Award Committee as an NCWIT Los Angeles Honorable Mention Award Winner for Aspirations in Computing.
