Social Justice Symposium Week

How often do you think about buying lunch?
Students discussed socioeconomic status and privilege among many others during Buckley’s third-annual Social Justice Symposium week.

Throughout the week, Middle and Upper School students were able to attend a series of symposia on topics ranging from gender norms, intersectionality, colorism, transracial adoption, and sexuality.  The symposia were an excellent way for the entire Buckley community to come together and unpack social justice issues that can often be difficult conversations to have.

We were joined by multiple guests throughout the week, including give Buckley alumni who shared their experiences, stories, and identities; students and faculty from the Sequoyah School; and distinguished speakers, including Dr. Donald Grant. Thanks to everyone who attended and participated in these important discussions!
