  • Buckley 'On Broadway'

    Calling all Musical Theatre lovers! Come and learn some of Broadway’s most exciting choreography in a staged mash up of The Great White Way’s biggest musical numbers. From Hamilton to Newsies, campers will get to dance the styles of Andy Blankenbuehler, Bob Fosse, Jerome Robbins and more. Grab your dancing shoes and bring your brightest smiles, because this summer, it’s show time!

  • Dance. Create. Inspire. Perform.

    Each morning will begin with a breathing/movement exercise to get the dancers warmed-up and ready for the day. Followed by a ballet class that will cover technique basics and across the floor. Dancers will learn the fundamentals of modern and improv dance. We will focus on three modern pioneers; Martha Graham, Lester Horton and Jose Limon and learn their history, techniques and combinations. Dancers will get to know their creative side and experiment with tempo, space, movement phrases, styles and directional changes; combining them all together and creating their own dance. Also, an overall emphasis on multicultural dance will be integrated twice a week exposing children to various dances, rhythms, customs and traditions.

  • Harry Pottery - Fantastic Beasts and How to Make Them!

    Come get your hands dirty with clay while exploring the fantasy world of Harry Potter’s Fantastic Beasts. While channeling their favorite characters, these young witches and wizards will learn how to incorporate the 3 basic techniques of clay hand building: slab, coil, and pinch pot; while paying homage to this popular series by creating various beasts, bobble headed characters, and more. The students will glaze and paint their pieces and their clay will be fired in a kiln. Please note: Please allow 2 weeks for firing. An email will be sent when the items are ready for pick up.

  • Kindergarten Adventure

    Kindergarten Adventure is an educational and fun-filled half or full day program, taught by Buckley's very own Lower School teachers and carefully designed with the needs and developmental considerations of our youngest campers in mind. Campers will engage in activities including arts and crafts, storytelling, imaginative play, games, athletics and much more. Participants MUST be entering Kindergarten in Fall 2019.

  • Sports Spectacular

    This program is designed for the children to explore, have fun, and feel successful in their abilities. Students will engage in games and activities that reinforce what is covered in primary physical education. We are focused on drills, skills, and thrills.  All the games that we play are small sided and modified for every student to find success. The objectives are learning, having fun and experiencing multiple sports while at summer camp at Buckley.

  • Tech Kids

    Come explore educational software using iPads and desktop computers under Mrs. Borggrebe's expert guidance. You're sure to learn a lot of new things and have fun at Tech camp. Campers will improve their keyboarding skills, create graphics, write a book, learn to program a game using scratch and explore a variety of apps on the I Pads. Creativity, passion and innovations will be shared.

  • VEXcellent Robotics

    Are you curious about robotics? Want to learn how to build and program your own robotic creation! Students will use the VEX Robotics system for the entirety of the course. At the end of the week, we will have robot challenges including but not limited to races, obstacles, goals, and battles. No prior robotics experience required.

    Elevate your game! This camp is designed to teach children how to become well-rounded and
    team-oriented basketball players. The session will offer intense, specialized basketball
    instruction with an emphasis on the fundamentals of basketball including dribbling, passing,

  • Crazy for Crafts

    This summer allow your child to explore their creative side at Crazy for Crafts. In just one week, we will take on numerous extraordinary crafts. Some of the fun projects we will create include slime, kaleidoscopes, jewelry, shrinky dink key chains, puppets, perler beads, tie-dye shirts, and more! We will celebrate the unique abilities of emerging artists by taking the tame to practice drawing and painting. This will involve canvas painting as well as an activity using colored ice cubes to watercolor paint. We will provide a space for our students to explore and create with confidence.

  • Digital Filmmaking- Commercial/Trailer

    This camp introduces Middle School age students to the basic elements of digital filmmaking and editing techniques from concept to finished product. Over the course of the 1week camp students will create 2 or 3 projects as collaborative teams where they will write, shoot, and edit. The projects include a short narrative and a Commercial or Film or Television Program Trailer and culminate with a news magazine broadcast that involves the entire class. Students will learn filmmaking terminology, the use of a variety of digital camcorders, editing with Final Cut Pro, screenwriting and storyboarding, essential lighting and sound elements, and green screen. The camp will repeat in the second week with a Documentary or Public Service Announcement (PSA) replacing the Commercial/Trailer. The camp meets every day and will not participate in the swim program. No previous filmmaking experience required.

All players will be grouped by age and ability to ensure the optimal balance of fun, challenge and skill development. No prior experience is necessary.

    This camp dedicated to exploring fun and interesting laws of science in nature. Students will conduct experiments and observe as nature takes its course. We will discuss and explore the elements of botany (study of plants), zoology (study of animals), and meteorology (study of weather) throughout campus. This adventurous camp will meet the interest for campers of all ages.

    Get your passports and imaginations ready for a fun-filled, magical trip around the world! Students will be traveling the world and experiencing the life and culture of different countries using literature, art, music, dance, games, cooking and language. This gives each student the opportunity to develop a deeper understanding and appreciation of cultural diversity and the world in which we live.

    In this camp, campers will get on their feet participating in fun improv games and skits designed to foster scene building and storytelling. Participants will discover their “voice” and turn their ideas into performance. We’ll explore performance poetry (culminating in a Slam Poetry Session) and even record radio drama style podcasts. It’s a fun class where students will build their confidence, hone their acting chops and learn to express themselves, artistically.

    Through hands on activities students learn about the origins of painting and how it has changed over time. We’ll make paintings in a variety of styles with brushes and other, more unconventional tools. Students experiment with making their own paints, adding textural materials, altering the consistency of the paint, color mixing, and more.

    This camp is designed for our young sport lovers. The camp will focus on a variety of traditional and non-traditional games. Our excellent camp coaches will ensure that their day is filled with age appropriate games and activities that will foster growth, creativity, and development.

We will experiment with slime, erupting volcanoes, and participate in a car balloon race. All junior scientist welcomed. No prior experience necessary.

  • Hogwarts Camp (Wizards & Wands)

    Hop onto Platform 9 ¾ and catch a ride to your new adventure. Get ready to play a game of ‘Quidditch’ with your fellow wizards and witches. Create your own invisibility cloak, wave your magic wand and jump onto your broomstick to fun. Put on your Potter glasses and see a world full of magic. The camp will consist of indoor/outdoor games, trivia, art, potions, and dueling.

  • Kids in the Kitchen

    Calling all culinary artist!  Learn to make easy, kid friendly treats from scratch in this fun, hands-on class.  Campers will measure, mix, and decorate both savory and sweet treats while incorporating fruits and veggies for a healthy twist. In addition to desserts, campers will explore with some breakfast items.   Prior experience in the kitchen not required.  Participants will receive their own small baking kit along with a recipe book of all items made that week.

    Cheer & Pom dance will teach students a combination of dance styles involving hip hop, jazz, lyrical cheer motions and technical work such as leaps, turns, kicks, splits and jumps while using poms.
