Keri Hehn

Coach Keri Hehn has been at Buckley for five years, leading both the Middle and Upper School swim team, as well as the Griffin Swim Club. Coach Hehn is also the moderator of the Varsity Club and FANS (Fantastic Athletes Need Support). Learn more about Coach Hehn below!


Q: What was your favorite sport to play in high school/middle school?
A: Swimming and Volleyball

Q: Did you play a sport in college? If so, what was it?
A: I swam Division 1

Q: If you could meet any athlete, who would it be?
A: Roger Federer pr Kobe Bryant

A: What is your favorite team to cheer for now? (other than Buckley of course)
Q: 49ers, New York Giants, and the Yankees!

Q: If you could live anywhere in the world, where would it be?
A: I want to live in a hut in Bora Bora with a glass bottom so I can watch the fish!
     
Q: What’s the most memorable game or play that you’ve witnessed/coached at Buckley?
A: When the 200 Medley Relay composed of Jess W., Daniel P., Austin W., and Vincent S. won  the CIF title. I was shaking for about an hour after that race!

Q: If you could create a team, what would the colors be?
A: I like black and red!
       
Q: How did you become involved in coaching?
A: I swam for 20 years and after college did a swim clinic tour around the US. I love to inspire kids to swim and fall in love with the sport.
 
Q: What’s your greatest joy/biggest challenge as a coach?
A: Seeing my swimmers post a best time and swim faster than they even thought was possible.

Q: What’s the most amazing sports moment you’ve ever witnessed or been a part of?
A: At US Nationals in 2007 I won the 200 Breaststroke and it was the first time I was ever crowned a National Champion. It had been a dream of mine since I was 15 years old.
