This month, Lower School and Upper School collaborated on campus when first grade students visited visual arts chair Ellen Mahoney’s classroom.
First grade teachers Maurice Adkins and Megan Randazzo showed students a thank you video for Buckley’s plant ops team and encouraged students to create thank you cards. Out of this activity grew a collaboration between Lower School and Upper School art class.
Ms. Mahoney invited the class when first grade teachers Mr. Adkins and Ms. Randazzo reached out in hopes of digitizing the thank you cards to be displayed on TVs across campus.
Students had the opportunity to tour the Upper School art room, learn about 3D printers, and see the range of art supplies available to Upper School art students. Ms. Mahoney looks forward to inviting more first grade classes to tour the Upper School art room!
Students in grades seven through twelve took to the stage on April 22 and 23 for the Spring Dance Festival. To celebrate dance and the human spirit, Disconnect/Reconnect showcased student and faculty choreography, informed by personal journeys, aspirations, world events, and social justice issues.
With the leadership of interim science department chair Anat Fernandes, fifth grade students ventured to green space by the K-2 playground to learn about plants native to California, how to plant, and the importance of Earth Day.
