Buckley Observes 25th Anniversary of Northridge Earthquake
On Thursday, January 17, Buckley observed the twenty-fifth anniversary of the devastating 6.7 magnitude Northridge Earthquake.
The earthquake was an enormously important moment for Los Angeles. The Middle/Upper School library put together an informational display with images of the aftermath and some facts about the earthquake, including where the epicenter was, how far the damage extended, etc.
Several faculty members were able to share their own personal experiences, allowing students to connect the images of destruction with the testimonies of those who were able to witness it.
In an effort to continue building upon Dr. King’s legacy of service to the community, the Office of DEI partnered with The Valley of Change to develop a daily calendar filled with action opportunities.
