Buckley Summer Camp is a day-camp oasis tucked in a quiet, green canyon in Sherman Oaks. Our summer camp offers many program options every week for both Buckley and non-Buckley students entering kindergarten through grade eight.

Campers can join us for one, several, or all sessions. All programs are open to students from Buckley and other schools.

As educators and parents, we know how special summer should be for children. The Buckley School Summer Camp combines creative, fun, educational, and athletic courses with top-notch facilities and superb teachers so that kids can be kids on their summer break.

  • Can campers bring a cell phone or electronics?

    No, cell phones and electronics disrupt the camp experience. Camp is about making new friends and enjoying interactions with staff and fellow campers. If brought to camp, cell phones should stay in your child’s backpack. The Buckley School is not responsible for any lost or stolen items. 
  • Do campers swim daily?

    No. Campers will swim on Tuesdays and Thursdays of every week. 
  • Is lunch included?

    Yes! Lunch is included in the price of tuition for each week. However, students are encouraged to bring snacks and extra water.
  • Is there camp on July 4?

    No. Campus is closed in observance of the Fourth of July and will re-open on July 5.
  • What are Buckley Summer Camp's hours?

    Camp will begin promptly at 9:00 a.m. every morning and end at 3:00 p.m. every afternoon.

    Optional early morning care is available for an additional $75 per week.
    Optional late pick up is available for an additional $75 per week. 
  • What does my child need to bring to camp?

    Campers should wear comfortable clothing and closed-toe shoes. Extra snacks, bottles of water, sunscreen (spray-on), swim suit, towel, life jacket (if needed), a change of clothes, and backpack to keep belongings in are recommended.
  • What happens if my child is sick or gets hurt?

    Parents will be notified by our camp nurse or camp director if their camper has not been feeling well. Moderate injuries will also be communicated to the parent once proper first aid has taken place. In the case of a severe injury needing professional medical attention, the parent or guardian will be contacted immediately.
  • What if my child doesn't want to swim?

    For those who do not wish to swim, low energy activities such as indoor/outdoor group games, music and movement activities, videos, board games, and/or organized free play will be offered. 
  • What is an all-camp activity?

    All-camp activities will include playing indoor or outdoor group games, music and movement activities, board games, making crafts, and singing camp songs. 
  • Where do I drop off and pick up my child?

    Please use the Lower School Bell Tower ramp to drop off and pick up your child daily. You may also park in our school lot and walk your child to their camp location.

    Optional early morning drop off and late pick-up will take place in Room 8.
  • Where is the lost and found?

    Lost and found is located behind room 4 in the Lower School. Our staff will do their best to ensure that campers do not lose any belongings, however, we cannot be responsible for any lost or stolen items. We recommend that campers keep all necessary items in a bag or backpack and refrain from bringing unnecessary items to camp.

Week 4: July 1-July 5 (No camp July 4/Campus Closed)
Week 5: July 8-July 12
Week 6: July 15-July 19
 
Fees:
Weekly Camp Tuition: $475 per week (lunch included)  
Before Camp Care: $75 per week (8:00 a.m.-9:00 a.m.)
After Camp Care: $75 per week (3:00 p.m.-4:00 p.m.)
After camp care closes promptly at 4:00 p.m.
Certain programs require a materials fee. The fee may vary from $10-$40 per student/camp.  
This is listed at registration and is added to the cost of tuition at checkout.

Enrollments & Cancellations

The school reserves the right to close enrollment or to cancel a course offering. If a course is cancelled, you will be notified seven days in advance.

With the exception of the above, no refunds for classes will be issued for courses if a child withdraws after May 15, 2019. The tuition is 100% non-refundable after May 15. Students may register for additional courses at any time, but must pay the full cost of the class.
