Minimum Enrollment: 6 Description: Taught by Rod Sailes, a Buckley alum who played college ball in Maryland, this course has been thoughtfully designed to teach students the fundamentals of the game, as well as exceptional overall knowledge of basketball concepts. Physical conditioning will be a key component of the class, all while having fun. Log into Zoom each session with your own basketball and some space to move around.
Description: Bring your friends to end the week with fun and engaging games that will improve problem-solving skills, concentration, pattern recognition, and visual perception, while enhancing spatial recognition and increasing reaction time. Students will work alone and in pairs or groups to challenge themselves in a non-competitive and enjoyable way.
Minimum Enrollment: 6 Description: A fateful trip to the South of France inspired a whole new chapter in Picasso’s career and changed pottery forever. In this live Zoom class, students will discover the multiple hallmarks of Picasso’s artistic personality in his ceramics: humor, inventiveness, fearlessness, and his unsurpassed ability to define simplicity in form and create their own original ceramic work. In this Pick-Up Materials Class option, you are able to pick up all of the materials you'll need to create your masterpiece from the school (times and area TBD). Sculpted pieces can then be brought back to be fired in our kiln and the finished pieces will be picked up at your convenience.

This class teaches students to play chess while stimulating problem-solving skills, analytical skills, and critical thinking skills. Each class has a lesson for beginners, a lesson for intermediate/advanced students, and playing time for everybody.

Description: Culinary Kids Academy combines hands-on cooking and academic learning in engaging workshops. After teaching 150,000+ students in the classroom, we've shifted to a highly successful Zoom program, tested this spring and summer.
You can expect yummy, kid-approved recipes, experiential cooking instruction, and engaging learning & storytelling …all from the comfort of your own home!
This course is best suited for second through eighth graders. Supply lists will be sent to participants ahead of time, and younger students are required to have adult supervision in the kitchen.
We are now offering five class options via Zoom, Monday through Friday, all from 4:00-5:00 p.m.

We cover the importance of nutrition and taking care of our bodies to build confidence and spirits. We will teach a dance and multiple cheers, incorporating them into fun routines to celebrate our love for Buckley.
Minimum Enrollment: 6 Description: This Beyond the Bell program will revolve around fun games, sports knowledge & activities, and other challenges. We will cover the sports world by sharing lots of facts and answering questions. There will be times when we will have some fitness and exercise challenges. We will also touch on health and nutrition with different fun facts and exercises.

Minimum Enrollment: 6 Description: This introductory class, conducted live each week over Zoom, will include a Graffiti Art kit and downloads that will shed light on the origins of how this art form was created. It will also introduce students to various Graffiti artists and provide them with a basic understanding of the various lettering styles, tags, stenciling, and street art concepts.
Please note that Hip Hop is offered two days a week for third grade, Tuesday (Hip Hop) and Thursday (Intermediate/Advanced Hip Hop). Each day requires a separate enrollment. Our goal is to provide dance to as many students as possible. Thank you for your understanding.

Minimum Enrollment: 6 Description: A fun and challenging dance class. Students will be introduced to various hip hop dance genres including old school, new school, locking and house. They will learn how to isolate, wave, pop and breakdance. Students will learn a new dance routine every two to three weeks in order to retain choreography more quickly with an emphasis on performance quality.
Minimum Enrollment: 8 Description: Kallpachay Spanish Immersion online classes are a perfect blend of interactive activities that make learning Spanish fun—now from the comfort of your home. Our native Spanish-speaking instructors guide students to Spanish fluency using songs, movement, projects, and more through our small-group environment. Minimum Enrollment: 6 Description: Join Ms. Francis for a weekly S.T.E.A.M. challenge! For each challenge, you will be given a task, have time to plan and build your creation, and share with other students. These activities are intended to spark imagination, encourage innovation, and give students a space to create. For planning purposes, you will receive a list of common household items that will come in handy to create your S.T.E.A.M. makerspace prior to the first-class session.
Minimum Enrollment: 7 Description: Learn how to hand sew and embroider with Miss Shannon’s Sewing. First project, a felt pouch for sanitizing wipes teaches how to sew on a button. All other projects teach each stitch and skill. The final project is the cutest stuffed dog with floppy ears. All materials and supplies are provided and can be picked up locally at our studio on Magnolia and Whitsett.

Students will use fine motor skills to forge a strong connection between the hands and the mind. They are encouraged to try new ideas, exercise their imagination and creativity, and are allowed to make mistakes in a safe environment. With the guidance of an experienced artist/woodworker, children learn how to use tools safely, effectively, and independently.
