    Description: Taught by Rod Sailes, a Buckley alum who played college ball in Maryland, this course has been thoughtfully designed to teach students the fundamentals of the game, as well as exceptional overall knowledge of basketball concepts. Physical conditioning will be a key component of the class, all while having fun. Log into Zoom each session with your own basketball and some space to move around.

    Description: Bring your friends to end the week with fun and engaging games that will improve problem-solving skills, concentration, pattern recognition, and visual perception, while enhancing spatial recognition and increasing reaction time. Students will work alone and in pairs or groups to challenge themselves in a non-competitive and enjoyable way.

    Description: Dali: The man. The master. The marvel. Salvador Dali is one of the most celebrated artists of his time. In this Live Zoom class, students will discover and embrace some of the risks Dali took in his fiercely technical and imaginative artwork while proving how rich the world can be when you dare to embrace pure, boundless creativity.  

    In this Pick-Up Materials Class option, you are able to pick up all of the materials you'll need to create your masterpiece from the school (times and area TBD) Sculpted pieces can then be brought back to be fired in our kiln and the finished pieces will be picked up at your convenience.

    Description: Chess is an exciting educational experience. This class teaches students to play chess while stimulating problem-solving skills, analytical skills, and critical thinking skills. Each class has a lesson for beginners, a lesson for intermediate/advanced students, and playing time for everybody.

    Description: Sharpen your pencils and ignite your imagination! Ms. Richards is excited to share her love of art and literature in this fun and heartfelt program. Each week, a fresh and engaging children’s book will be presented, followed by a step-by-step drawing activity inspired by the beloved story. In a warm, tranquil learning atmosphere, technical expertise will be emphasized and creativity encouraged. Students will build a diverse portfolio of their masterpieces to cherish for years to come.

    Description: This introductory class, conducted live each week over Zoom, will include a Graffiti Art kit and downloads that will shed light on the origins of how this art form was created. It will also introduce students to various Graffiti artists and provide them with a basic understanding of the various lettering styles, tags, stenciling, and street art concepts.

    Description: A fun and challenging dance class. Students will be introduced to various hip hop dance genres including old school, new school, locking and house. They will learn how to isolate, wave, pop and breakdance. Students will learn a new dance routine every two to three weeks in order to retain choreography more quickly with an emphasis on performance quality.

    Join Ms. Francis for a weekly S.T.E.A.M. challenge! For each challenge, you will be given a task, have time to plan and build your creation, and share with other students. These activities are intended to spark imagination, encourage innovation, and give students a space to create. For planning purposes, you will receive a list of common household items that will come in handy to create your S.T.E.A.M. makerspace prior to the first-class session.

    Learn how to hand sew and embroider with Miss Shannon’s Sewing. First project, a felt pouch for sanitizing wipes teaches how to sew on a button. All other projects teach each stitch and skill. The final project is the cutest stuffed dog with floppy ears. All materials and supplies are provided and can be picked up locally at our studio on Magnolia and Whitsett.

    This class is a fun-filled introduction into the world of woodworking, specifically designed for beginners. Students will use fine motor skills to forge a strong connection between the hands and the mind. They are encouraged to try new ideas, exercise their imagination and creativity, and are allowed to make mistakes in a safe environment. With the guidance of an experienced artist/woodworker, children learn how to use tools safely, effectively, and independently.
