The general endowment at the Buckley School is a significant source of support for the school and its mission. A gift to the endowment secures Buckley's future, alleviating financial pressure and allowing the school to focus on educating students. A healthy endowment is fundamental to maintaining our roster of talented teachers who continue to expand their skills and knowledge and for the development of new and innovative programs that challenge Buckley students to even greater achievement. A gift to the Buckley endowment supports investments in the school's infrastructure, faculty and professional development, student-centered programs and technology, and, importantly, financial aid for new and continuing students.
Senior Class Legacy Fund
A gift to the Senior Class Legacy Fund is a gift to Buckley’s general endowment in honor of a specific class year. With ongoing annual support from alumni, Senior Class Legacy Funds will continue to grow. Over time, as subsequent graduating classes establish their own legacy funds, the combined impact for future generations of Buckley students will be tremendous.
Jordan Weiss Memorial Fund
Jordan Weiss, a Buckley senior and beloved member of the Buckley community, passed away on Friday, January 28, 2011, as a result of a skateboarding accident. Jordan will always be remembered for his great sense of humor, energy, loyalty, and embodiment of the Buckley Commitment.
At the request of the Weiss family, The Jordan Weiss Memorial Scholarship Fund was established to honor Jordan and help his memory live on at Buckley. As a further tribute to Jordan, the school renamed its Class of 2011 Legacy Fund “The Jordan Weiss Memorial Scholarship Fund.”
Annual awards will be granted from this financial aid endowment to students who embody the qualities central to Jordan’s character and who otherwise might not have the chance to attend The Buckley School. The first Jordan Weiss Memorial Scholarship Fund grant was made in the 2013–2014 school year to an outstanding Upper School student.

Financial Aid Endowment (Alumni Endowment)
The Financial Aid Endowment helps fund tuition for students with demonstrated financial need. During the 2014–2015 school year, Buckley awarded families more than $3 million in financial aid, providing 14 percent of our families with tuition assistance. This fund is supported by Buckley alumni who are asked to give back to the school in a way that allows future students to have the same rigorous and joyful academic experience alumni once had.
HOOPLA and Other Funds
The Parents’ Association HOOPLA Minority Student Financial Aid Endowment began with the proceeds from the 2004 Parents’ Association HOOPLA All-Star Basketball Clinic and has grown with subsequent donations made to the fund. Key parents and administrators made a commitment to help recruit and retain a more diverse student body, which inspired this event and fundraising effort. HOOPLA provides financial support to deserving students of color who otherwise would be unable to attend Buckley. This endowment fund reached a substantial principal balance in 2013 and can now generate tuition awards annually to a deserving student. As the endowment grows, the fund will generate even more scholarship dollars.
There are several other donor-directed financial aid endowments that make up Buckley’s portfolio of giving opportunities. Contributions to endowment options should be made in addition to, not in lieu of, donations to the Annual Fund.
