Our Town: A Reflection

by Assistant Director and communications intern Miles G. ’25
After months of rehearsals, three weeks of tech, and five performances, Our Town, the second and final Upper School theatrical production of the year, finished with joy, celebration, and tears.
“Production week was so emotional, with it being the final show at Buckley for nine of us,” said senior Ellie A. "There was really something electric in the theater on Saturday night. Getting to grow up onstage at Buckley has been one of the great joys of my time here, and I was so happy to have finished with a show as special as this one.”

The cast and crew worked really hard to bring Thorton Wilder’s classic play about growing up in small town to life, and everything came together in an amazing way.

While it is exciting to complete a production, it is sad that this was the last show we will get to do with this amazing class of seniors. Added Ellie, “Our Town was truly one of the most noteworthy Buckley shows I have been a part of. It was a thrilling culmination to seven years of hard work and dedication in the theater department.”

With Our Town finished, the performing arts department is already looking forward to the next two productions this year: the dance concert and the Middle School play. Students within the Performing Arts Department have also started to speculate about what shows we will do next year, and we are really excited to see what will happen next!
