Dare to be Strong
Dr. Buckley intuitively understood what has since been proven by modern research: Physical activity improves self-esteem, academic performance, the capacity to concentrate, and the ability to cooperate with peers. This is why our curriculum immerses students in physical activities from kindergarten to graduation to help lay the foundation for lifelong health and fitness.
All Buckley students participate in physical activities and a large percentage choose to join our competitive teams. The "Everyone Can" philosophy for Middle School sports - which includes a no-cut policy and in-school practice -- results in an astounding 98 percent participation rate.
Physical activity is a crucial balance to the academic efforts of students. Exercise stimulates the student and assures the advancement of the entire program. ‘A sound body’ becomes an actuality, and with it, a great sense of accomplishment.”

Expanding and improving our competitive athletic program in the Upper School has produced impressive results. Our already successful teams are winning more league titles, advancing even further in playoffs and our players are receiving many All-CIF and league MVP designations before going on to play at the collegiate level.
