The Campus Enhancement Plan

The Buckley School campus is experiencing exciting change as we put into motion the Campus Enhancement Plan. Within this plan the new Academic and Performing Arts Building opened for the 2012-2013 school year and the construction of the Mathematics and Science Building is on track for opening fall 2013. Below you can catch a glimpse of construction activity through a time-lapse video and learn more about how the project will enhance the learning experience of our students.

Opening for the 2013-2014 School Year: The Mathematics and Science Building

We have exciting news about our plans for our second building - The Mathematics and Science Building: construction of our second building began in the summer of 2012 — a full year earlier than expected.  This means our 14,000-square-foot, state-of-the-art science and math building will be open for the start of the 2013-2014 school year and we will have added 16 classrooms for our Middle and Upper School campus across our two new buildings.

The Mathematics and Science Building will be home to five Upper School science classrooms, with two shared prep areas, five math and general classrooms, a seminar room, and a Math Department office.  In line with the school's environmental goals, this building will be LEED Silver certified.

It is because of the incredible generosity and commitment of the Buckley community that we were able to begin construction of the second building an entire year early.  Contributions thus far have helped to raise $29 million toward our $35 million capital goal.

Now Open: The Academic & Performing Arts Building

Buckley is so fortunate to have a wonderful, serene canyon campus.  It provides an ideal, peaceful and safe setting that allows students to focus on learning.  At the beginning in the 2012-2013 school year, our campus was enhanced when we opened The Academic & Performing Arts Building, a state-of-the-art, two-story, 19,500 square foot building that is home to 14 new classrooms, including: performing arts specialty classrooms for dance, choir, drama, and orchestra; 6th grade classrooms; a journalism and publications classroom; a Student Technology Center; and, a K-12 faculty center. As part of the school’s strategic priority to green the campus, this building is LEED certified.
